“Taking a little tumble in the hay, dearie?” he asked as he crouched above her, his grin wicked. 

She stared up at him, her sarcastic smile and quirk in her brow not dimming her brilliantly blue eyes, “Why yes, care to join me?”

That stopped him short for a moment, his grin faltering. 

He of course knew that she had been clumsy enough to trip over the straw trough, breaking two of it’s legs in the process- had watched her keel over in the middle of the mess. Of course, none of this would have happened if he hadn’t placed it in her path magically. 

“So sorry, too busy for that kind of frivolity. Do enjoy yourself though,” he told her gruffly, standing up swiftly and stalking away back to his spinning wheel.

Belle smiled mischievously, playing with a piece of straw in between her fingers- one point to her.
